The Walking the way to Health Initiative (WHI) is a national scheme that encourages people to do regular short walks within their local community to improve their level of fitness. The scheme is funded through a number of charities that aims are to use walking as a way to improve people’s health and to encourage people to get out into their local environment.
There is a range of walks in the Humber region. Some of the routes are organised group walks led by trained walking leaders whilst other routes are easy to follow yourself.
